This Year's Model Updates:

Although completely redesigned last year, the Mazda MX-5 Miata still sees a number of big changes for 2007. A retractable hardtop model joins the line, trim levels are shuffled and renamed and power output numbers change slightly due to the implementation of new SAE power-rating standards.

Pros:
  • Huge fun factor, precise steering and handling, low base price, economical to operate.
Cons:
  • Still snug for large adults, stability control only available on top trim level.

  • Solid and Fun - 2007 Mazda MX-5 Miata

I bought the 2007 MX-5 Grand Touring in 2007 and sold my original year 1990 Miata to a friend. That car had 202,000 miles on it. He still drives it. I have plenty of experience driving this vehicle to know it is reliable. If you want to get from point A to B and have a blast doing it this is your car. This is one of those cars that when the weather is right and top is down on the car you can get in a zone driving and you dont want to stop. The word fun is thrown around a lot with this car and perfectly fits what this car is. For the money its like getting a much more expensive sports car. About the only con is this rear wheel drive vehicle is not meant for snow. If you live in a cold climate have another car to drive during those months.

I looked at a number of cars for several years. In the course of searching I narrowed my criteria to maximum value for few dollars. That eliminated Porsches, BMWs, MBs and a number of other cars. I chose the MX-5 because it was not a compromise. It drives exceptionally, the new interior is first rate, the exterior restyle is spot on and I didnt have to sell a kidney to get it. What really sold me though is that this is what a sports car is. It reminds me of what made cars so important in my life and what made me want a car that was "special". The MX-5 is special. I can race this car if I choose, modify it to make it better or leave bone stock and its just great. Its just perfect.

Went from a 1991 Miata to this. BIG upgrade. A tiny bit more sterile than the jittery, vibrating 1991, but better in every way. Enough power, extremely well balanced yet controlled. Turns commutes into an enjoyable experience.

1500 miles in 3 weeks, city and highway and I love it. An absolute joy to drive. My wife wanted an automatic and I was dead set against it. Everyone knows an auto saps the power and destroys the driving experience...not in this car. There is plenty of power and Ive come to really enjoy the paddle shift even though it took some getting used to.

Ive had my 2007 Miata PRHT for about 3 days now, but already find this to be an amazing vehicle. Its a real pleasure to drive and the PRHT is definitely worth the money -- much quieter than the soft top inside the vehicle. Ive owned a 280ZX, an MGB, an Acura Integra LS, and most recently a Toyota Celica GTS. The Miata is far and away the most fun and responsive vehicle of the bunch. Go get one! ;-)

  • Best Miata Ever - 2007 Mazda MX-5 Miata

I cant imagine more fun for the money, and the hard top is a nice feature. Its not an SC430 or an SLK, but if you want a classic roadster in the vein of an MG or Fiat Spyder with rock solid reliability and low cost of ownership, along with some measure of practicality like a usable trunk and excellent fuel economy, theres simply no better car on the market.

Great car. Love the copper/tan combination real sharp. First time convertible for us and we are very pleased.

My Mazda Miata MX-5 answers the call for fun, speed and reliability. There are quite a few on the roads because it is mechanically sound, beautiful to just watch travel and has consistency in braking, shifting and driver expectations. The top is easy to fling done and pull back up. It has no leaks in the rain, the leather interior has been well protected and looks/drives like a much younger car even though it has 92,000 real miles. It is legal to roll the odometer back so beware of those asking a high price for low mileage-nobody has a top if the line roadster from 2007 with 60,000 miles or less. Its too much fun to let it set and decay. Id rather not drive it on the interstate but I do if Im only going a few exits.

  • After 1 year still lovin it... - 2007 Mazda MX-5 Miata

We have been driving the MX5 PRHT for almost a year now and still love the experience. The only reason I get to drive is because my wife loves to be chauffered. The car is a real show stopper, everywhere we go someone is turning their head to see that car go by. As small as it looks any 6 person should be able to fit and get in and out comfortably. One complaint, I cant drive the car without breaking the law, it always wants more Zoom- zoom.
